- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Our policy price went up this year by over $100 and, although we received a package in the mail, no one took the time to explain anything to us. I also had a family friend who is an insurance expert look over our policy recently and she said we are not covered nearly enough for water damage if that ever happens. As first time home-buyers, we did not know what to really look for in a policy and no one from Allstate has taken the time to explain anything to us. Every penny counts for us right now as I am in the middle of a high risk pregnancy and an explanation of our benefits and of why our policy increased in price would have been nice and should have come from speaking with someone either face to face or at least over the phone. UPDATE: I am increasing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Tim took the time to call me and explain everything. He tried to get us a multi-policy discount but unfortunately was unable to match the price we currently pay for our car insurance. I am still frustrated that our policy price increased because so many claims were paid out to other people but I guess that is how insurance works. Still, it caused our house payment to increase by almost $40 a month which is a lot right now. Overall, I am much happier than I originally was since I now understand our coverage better.By Leslie Dominguez, December 26, 2016
